‘AIM TO CHANGE FOUNDATION’
Motivational Sessions with a Vision to Inspire
What is the AIM TO CHANGE FOUNDATION?
The Aim to Change Foundation was founded by Lucie Burns to empower and inspire positive change in young and adults people so that they can see and reach their full potential
What is the ‘AIM TO CHANGE PROGRAM?’
The Aim To Change Program is a course of one to one or group sessions, designed for young people to inspire change. The particular style of facilitation that is used, motivates and encourages each person to believe in their potential and gives them the tools to start to change negative thought patterns, beliefs and behaviour into positive actions through awareness in self and others, increased self esteem and a belief that as an individual they can add value to society. The outcome of this, is that as each person becomes more aware of the impact they have on others, there is a shift in their thought process, which will then motivate and inspire them to start taking responsibility for their actions, making more informed decisions, not just based on themselves but the society at large, this creates a domino effect and a positive shift for all.
Why do we need this program?
With so many young people, feeling disempowered, disenfranchised, disillusioned and angry with themselves, their families and the system, and a increasing number of young people not entering employment, education or training (N.E.E.T), the effect of this often results in the breakdown of relationships (families, friends and authority), a rise in crime, substance misuse, gang involvement and in some cases prison sentences. The cost to society when this happens is enormous and detrimental, not only financially but also in the breakdown of communities and the disconnection and lack of empathy and awareness between one another culminating in a cycle of hopelessness creating dependence not independence. It’s time to look at preventative methods, methods that increase the chance of young people thinking before taking action, taking responsibility for their lives. It’s about identifying transferable skills, building emotional resilience, giving young people choices and hope and enhancing their well-being so that they as individuals can make changes to not only their lives, but through those changes make a positive difference to others. This is what the ‘Aim To Change’ program aims to do.

Lucie can be booked for Motivational Speaking, Personal Development including confidence building and overcoming the negative voice - (One to One or Group Sessions), Mindfulness, Creative Therapeutic Sessions and Music Sessions, which are all highly effective in different ways.
Motivational Speaking – These talks aim to uplift and inspire young people, by encouraging them to believe in their worth, and the belief that they as individuals, can be their own catalyst for change, self-development and success.
One to one personal development sessions - Lucie tailors individual sessions specifically to each young person, focusing on the areas of their lives, which are directly affecting their behaviour, learning, interaction with others, and the impact which that may have had on their self esteem and positive growth. She works with them on their responses and reactions to the situations they are facing. These sessions aim to bring about positive change and increased confidence in a young persons life.
Group Sessions - Lucie uses her skills as a facilitator to run specific workshops with groups on various different topics to promote empowerment, change and positive growth. The group sessions are generic, however they can be tailored for individual groups and their needs.
Mindfulness - Lucie works with young people in enabling them to focus on the present, the here and now, showing them techniques in which they can learn how to sit with themselves and their feelings without distractions. Peer pressure and social media have put enormous pressure on young people to often behave in ways that go against how they are feeling and these sessions give them a chance to unplug from everything outside of themselves. Mindfulness aims to bring increased feelings of well-being and equilibrium into their lives.
Creative Therapeutic Work (One to One or Group Sessions) – These sessions are for young people who respond more positively to the use of creative methods. i.e. lyric and song-writing, poetry and/or role-play.

What is Lucie’s Aim?
Lucie’s aim is to support young people in reaching and fulfilling their potential, using the skills and techniques that she has developed, to promote positive change in thought, action and behaviour.
Why does Lucie do this work?
Lucie has always had a particular interest in working with young people who are often referred to as ‘hard to reach’ or ‘challenging’. She started facilitating and teaching over 18 years ago and has seen young people really turn their lives and attitudes around after working with her on their own personal development, attitude and behaviour. She believes that learnt behaviour and limiting beliefs can be challenged and turned around, if trust and good communication are built with a young person. This takes time to build, however, Lucie has had great success with young people, some of them opening up to her within one session because of the way that she connects, hears and responds to them, always believing in their potential and giving them the tools to create hope, encouragement and vision for their lives.
What is unique about Lucie Burns?
Lucie is able to combine her skills in a number of ways, which means that she is more effective in her work and can reach many more young people. Some young people respond to change more positively through being creative, whereas others may benefit more from Personal Development work, whether that be in a one to one or group setting. Lucie can also combine therapeutic work with music enabling a young person to express themselves through poetry or lyric writing. This process, as all others, is done sensitively and at the correct pace for the young person.
Why should we choose Lucie to work in our school or establishment?
Lucie has a long and successful history of work with young people. She is a highly skilled and engaging practitioner and knows when to employ the right technique for the desired outcome. Her balanced use of boundaries, fun, motivation and calmness, create an environment of safety for the young people in her presence. Her infectious and inspiring energy is contagious, and young people tend to make huge strides in their personal and school lives after working with Lucie.
Can Lucie be booked privately by parents, carers, group leaders or other organisations?
Yes, Lucie can come to your home or another place of your choice to work with your child or young person
What are the benefits of employing Lucie Independently?
Being Independent from the school means that Lucie can engage directly with the young people, rather than through the system. This has its advantages, especially if the young person believes that their difficulties stem from the school or educational environment. To them, working with an independent person may seem like they are seeing someone who is not directly connected with the school. This often results in trust being built at a faster pace and the feeling that someone is there just for them.
